I believe birth belongs to women and is most effective when it’s left undisturbed. God created women to bring life into this world, and He doesn’t make mistakes. While this might not be true for every woman, it is for most. Women possess incredible strength, and giving them the autonomy over their birth leads to the best outcomes. I believe a doula’s role is to support and create a safe, nurturing space—offering whatever is needed, whether that’s a reassuring smile during contractions, a steady hand with counterpressure, or simply quiet presence. It’s about honoring her intuition and letting her body lead the way.

The morning our son was born, we couldn’t reach our doula. Savanah was just supposed to take pictures—but with barely any prep, she stepped in and became our doula.
She knew when to be assertive, when to be gentle, what to say, and when to say it. She supported my husband, offered counter pressure, held my hair back while I puked, and blended into our birth team like she was always meant to be there.
